Okay, now that I have your attention, Adam here from The Revamp Your Vision Challenge with a quick story for you.
Why did I create Revolutionary Freedom and The Revamp Your Vision Challenge… what’s the story behind all this hard work and dedication?
Of course, I’m all about helping you get great results with your vision. That’s my #1 goal!
But my commitment and dedication to help you take confident action and avoid stopping because of fear, doubt or uncertainty goes deeper than that… much deeper!
So I wanted to share with you the story behind the scenes, so you can see if you connect with the reason I do what I do and why I care so much about your success. (If you don’t, there are other email lists better suited to you.)
Here’s the story:
After four years of drugs, affairs & divorce, I was broke and broken…
I was working full time as an ER nurse in downtown Detroit, making about $85K/year… and I was miserable.
Then, against all natural inclinations to stay in and be cozy on a brutally cold January night, I agreed to go with a buddy to a networking event in Mt. Clemens, Michigan – an hour from my house. That’s where I met the man who I believe God used to alter the course of my life, along with so many others, forever.
He was a successful faith-driven entrepreneur named Don, who really made something special out of his life after he fell hard from alcohol use.
Don, a former auto executive turned six-figure entrepreneur, spoke with me in the front corner of the room, uncomfortably close to a set of beige steel double doors locked with a chain and padlock. (I was angry, depressed and negative – the opposite of social at that point in my life)
After telling him of my hard situation in life, he paused, made a “hmmm” sound like he was loading an answer in his mental gun that was about to obliterate my very legitimate excuses.
With a slight smile on his warm face that stretched into the corners of his knowing eyes, he point-blank told me…
“If you change your thinking, you can change your life.”
I had never heard talk like that before. And honestly, I didn’t know what he meant. But while I didn’t totally get his thought process, I knew it was superior to whatever mine was, given the stark difference between our lifestyles at that point.
I knew at that moment that Don was different and I wanted to know what he knew so I could level up my life too. I didn’t quite know what the difference was in that room that night, but I’ve since learned that Don was walking in fulfillment.
He was living not a “perfect” life, but an ideal, or rich life. Jesus called it “life to the full” or “life more abundantly.”
I also said to him I didn’t know how to “change my thinking”.
He said, “It’s okay to be ignorant, but it’s stupid to stay ignorant.” Of course, ignorant meaning “not knowing”.
He literally said that to me and it impacted me enough to write it down. I instinctively knew he was speaking the truth, and not insulting me. So I asked him to help me.
He said yes, but not without confronting me with the unlikeliest of challenges to show him I was serious. More on that story at another time. Since Don agreed to be a mentor to me and beyond, I’ve overcome…
- I.V. drug & opioid pill addiction & a near-death overdose as a Registered Nurse
- Losing my wife & kids to divorce
- Post-Traumatic Stress diagnosis with multiple breakdowns in public, severe depression, hyper-vigilance/paranoia, and debilitating anxiety… without pharmaceuticals
- Moving my family of 6 across the country twice in 10 weeks after a failed business attempt
- Repossessions and bankruptcy
- Wetting the bed until freshman year of high school
And I’m still overcoming daily…but at least now I’m dry through the night. (My fellow recovering bedwetters KNOW what I’m talking about)
These days, I live the life God put in my heart when I was 20 years old, and that I customized on paper after that.
I even got the girl back.
I call Miss Nikki my “two-time” wife. I think it’s clever and cute so I use it kind of a lot, especially when meeting new couples – they always humor me with a chuckle.
Professionally, I help faith-driven, change-making, entrepreneur types:
* step into their God-designed identity
* shake loose all the shame & insecurity &
* live the life they were put here at this time in history to live…
I call this Revolutionary Freedom. Jesus said his “purpose is to give [us] a rich [meaningful] and satisfying life.” He’s talking about you and me. Is that the life you’re currently living?
For wayyy too many years I lived small and scared. My head was so full of other peoples’ voices that I couldn’t hear my own. And the Holy Spirit’s just got scrambled in the chaos.
Ever been called “too much”, “rebellious”, “non-conforming”, “has a problem with authority”?
I have. A lot.
It left me full of frustration, underlying anger and tremendous doubt & insecurity as to who I really was and what I was supposed to do with my life.
I fell and I fell hard. Caused a lot of hurt and heartache. Burned bridges. Lost careers. Destroyed my credibility.
And after a whole bunch of years & tears, blood & sweat, learning and unlearning, I’ve developed frameworks that can equip any calling-conscious professional to transform anything that matters to you and your purpose.
I develop tools that fuse the spiritual with the practical, so we can live life to its fullest – mind, body & spirit.
See, it’s part of the old, limited mindset of everything being a simplistic black and white that lends to us getting stuck with analysis paralysis.
Your personal life is not black and white, so your life-enhancing tools shouldn’t be either.
Frameworks like The Divergent Deltas, the Manifestation Map, the Identity Pathway, RADAR, and others are the tools I needed to break the chains of fear and limitation that had wrapped around me from external sources since childhood.
These tools have changed households. They’ve made marriages and other critical relationships better. These tools have transformed peoples’ faith lives.
I’ve committed the rest of my professional life leading others to this kickass vibrant way of living! When you’re living a lifestyle shaped by the reason for your birth, man oh man!! These are the people we see living their dreams and wonder what it’s like.
- It’s Patrick Mahomes after another Super Bowl win.
- It’s also the working mom selling her holistic soap products online.
- It’s my friend Miguel, a retired 30 year police officer, who uses his 6th degree Black Belt to teach kids and adults self-defense for pennies on the dollar because he’s living his Calling.
- And my friend Marc Bradley and his wife, who gave up TWO physician salaries to start The Creation Kingdom Zoo – an animal sanctuary in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia and raise their kids with that example. Marc and his family live a life of revolutionary freedom.
Can you imagine that?!
Are you willing to imagine living the exact life you were put here to live? It’s indescribable to someone who’s never known it.
So, how about you? Do you demand it? Would you invest your life in pursuit of living that way? It’s my opinion that that’s the only attitude strong enough to withstand the journey to actually have it.
I help those who refuse to look their kids or grandkids in the eyes and tell stories that “I would have, but… ”
So, how I got to the point of creating this specific Challenge… I knew I needed to present a tool that was fast, not time intensive but results and value intensive.
Then my two-time wife, Miss Nikki, helped me make it simple, concrete and actionable. (I like to play among the stars a bit and that can be confusing for some 😉
And the Revamp Your Vision Challenge was born.
