Happy Valentine’s Day… or as Nikki and I also call it: our Divorc-a-versary That’s right! 18 years ago today, our divorce “finalized”. Hm. Yep. We both, without planning it, gave each other cards today with that exact phrase. (Proof attached because who would believe it otherwise?!) We laughed hard about that. Here’s the kicker: We still believe in love. More than ever, actually. Because love isn’t about a perfect, straight-line journey. It’s not about avoiding pain, or pretending things never go wrong. Sometimes, it’s about choosing to love after loss. It’s a choice to rebuild, after you burned the whole thing to the ground. And it’s possible.
I used to think divorce = failure. Now I know it was part of a redemption story I never could have written on my own. So today, whether you’re celebrating love or wondering if you’ll ever feel it again—just know that stories don’t end where you think they do. They end where you choose to stop writing. Take the step. Adam P.S. If you’ve ever had a Valentine’s Day that didn’t go as planned… hit reply and tell me. I read every one.
